Blake Judd resurfaces online, says he’s done with music, drugs

Posted by on January 11, 2016

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from former Blake Judd, and to many, that was a relief. As the leader of Nachtmystium, Judd created some amazing music, but it was overshadowed by his heroin addiction. He was arrested for theft (which actually kept the band from playing our 2013 CMJ showcase), and once out, he used the release of the band’s final album, The World We Left Behind, to defraud fans that had pre-ordered it. Century Media finally cut ties with Judd, honoring those that had purchased the album. He’d also been selling merch, supposedly, that fans never got. There aren’t that many artists that have their very own Facebook page denouncing them, as Judd does.

At any rate, the last we heard from him, he said he was going to move away and attempt to get his life back together again. While many probably hoped for the best, there were probably just as many that hoped they never heard from him again. However, this weekend, he resurfaced on social media. His new Facebook page was uncovered by Blakecrush, the anti-Judd Facebook page. According to Judd, he’s been sober for 90 days, done with music, and remorseful. He promised to return money to people in the post. And if that’s the case, we’re really looking forward to getting back the advance we paid him for the show that he wound up not playing. People on Blakecrush are not very forgiving, but that’s likely because they were scammed more than once by a confirmed junkie that’s expressed sympathy in the past, only to use that sympathy to exploit his fans, friends and family. Metal Sucks brought this to our attention, and we’ve attached the following screen shots courtesy of them.
