Updates

As it begins to sink in that one of the coolest tours of the summer isn’t going to happen, some repercussions of the Lamb of God/Dethklok/Gojira tour cancellation are being felt. Both Lamb of God and Dethklok were set to play Slipknot’s inaugural Knotfest, which is taking place on August 17 and 18. While the fest is still happening, it’s now pressing on not only without Lamb of God, but also Dethklok. The following message appeared on their Facebook:

We are saddened that Lamb of God and Dethklok will not be able to perform at Knotfest. Our thoughts and support are with Randy Blythe and the LOG family. We will be announcing replacement artists imminently. FREE RANDY!

The replacement artists have yet to be named, but since Gojira was scheduled to play and wasn’t mentioned, it’s to be assumed that they’re still on the Fest. Meanwhile, over on Gojira’s page, the band has a poll up asking “With the cancellation of the Lamb of God/Dethklok tour, Gojira is thinking about playing a warm up show in New York City on August 9th to prepare to rock Heavy TO and Heavy MTL. Who wants to come see Gojira?” There’s no word on where this show would be, but we’ll keep you in the loop.
