scott chuckyAnthrax rhythm guitarist Scott Ian has relaunched his personal web site, and is going to start making weekly updates to it. In this installment, the first thing he brings up is the fact that the Jonas Brothers broke up. Realizing that people might actually want to continue reading, he also gave a musical update, including what Anthrax is up to, Brian Posehn’s record, and the undeniable fact that Brendon Small is a musical genius. Here’s what he had to say about his band:

Charlie, Frankie and I are working hard at new Anthrax. We’ve had a couple of writing sessions and things are moving along well, fast for us actually. We’ve got 7 songs arranged musically and we’re getting together again in a week and a half. The new stuff is aggressive, fast, even riff-ier than the last record and some of it is difficult to play. Nothing like writing parts that are above my ability as a guitar player! When that happens the drill sergeant in my brain yells “PRACTICE YOU LAZY FUCK!” So I do. And I nail that shit.

While that’s really the only information Ian gives because he adds that the band’s just now getting into the lyric and song-titling part of the process, maybe more information will be released next week.  And while Posehn told us earlier this year that he’d be working with Ian on his record. Ian offered the following update:

The Posehn record is just getting underway. Lot’s of killer guitar players and drummers involved and the material is hilarious and crushing. Megaforce is putting it out next year.

Looks like 2014 is shaping up to be the year of Scott Ian. He also talks about his wife’s forthcoming album (fun fact: his wife, Pearl Aday, is actually Meat Loaf’s daughter), and playing with members of KISS at Eddie Trunk’s 30th anniversary party last week . Read it all here.
