It’s been a few years since The Sword’s third album, Warp Riders. Since then, the band have changed drummers (Santiago :Jimmy” Vela III) and labels (Razor & Tie). Earlier today, however, the band made a Facebook post that’s shows the Austin stoner rock crew are getting in gear to record the new album, which will be namied Apocryphon.
ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT!
We head into the studio later this month to begin work on our fourth album, to be entitled Apocryphon. It will be produced/engineered by J. Robbins and feature cover art by J.H. Williams III! Release is slated for early this fall with a worldwide tour starting in October.
J. Robbins, who indie rock fans might know as the frontman of Jawbox, has produced Clutch and Against Me!, among many other bands. J. H. Williams III is a comic book artist that’s worked on titles like Chase, Promethea, Desolation Jones and Batwoman. The band will be appearing later this month in Atlantic City at the Orion Music Festival.
