Screen Shot 2014-02-13 at 5.37.52 PMWhat is this that stands before Tony Iommi? It might be his six-bedroom, 8,000 square foot mansion that he’s just put on the market for $4.33 million. The Birmingham Post reports that the Black Sabbath guitarist is looking to get rid of “Netherwood,” an Edwardian mansion built in 1905 in Lapworth, Warwickshire England. The Post reports that Iommi had hinted before that he might be looking to make changes in his home ownership.

It is believed the property has been on the market for a number of months and, although Iommi has not publicly announced his plans to move, he did reveal down-sizing was a possibility when he spoke to the Birmingham Mail in November 2012 about his much publicised battle with cancer. He spoke of always having “fought through adversity” in his life and said “maybe we should get a smaller house.”

He added: “Maybe it’s time to scale down anyway and try to live more of a peaceful life.”

If anyone’s earned a peaceful life, it’s Iommi. Especially since he’s still going strong despite  lymphoma that he was diagnosed with two years ago. Treatment for that is expected to be finished up for that sometime this year. While Sabbath is touring this Spring, in a post on his site, Iommi said that they’re too busy to think about recording a follow- up to 13.
