Since posting the bizarre video of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine losing his shit and parroting conspiracy theorists that claim President Obama staged the Aurora “Batman” and Sikh temple massacre, there’s been a lot of reaction. Most are taking it as the insane rantings of someone that’s gone from covering the Democratic convention for MTV to somewhere considerably more to the right. Yet there have been several comments that agree with Mustaine’s ridiculous and completely unsubstantiated ramblings.

Of all the people so far to offer their opinions of Mustaine’s rant, one should hit close to home: Carli Richards. She was one of the 70 people shot by James Holmes at the theater in Aurora last month.”Some people think the President is a good scapegoat but he didn’t shoot me,” she told TMZ after watching the footage of Mustaine’s rant. “It’s obviously kind of absurd and people who make up conspiracies just want attention. Everybody is emotional at this time and needs to blame somebody, I guess. I don’t think they realize the consequences of not being responsible for your own actions and James Holmes needs to be held accountable for his, to whatever way the justice system deems fit.”

You know what that is Dave? It’s called a “measured response.” You might want to look into it. You can read Richards’ harrowing account of her experience on her blog.
