“You know this song? Neither do we,” deadpanned Down frontman Philip Anselmo as the band launched into a cover of Van Halen’s “Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love.” Their performance at New York’s Nokia Theater was only the second time the band played the song, but they did it more than admirably. Also of note, their always-epic finale of “Bury Me In Smoke,” which featured the band changing instruments with Skid Row guitarist and Down manager Dave “Snake” Sabo, and Anselmo’s girlfriend and road manager Kate, and God Forbid drummer Corey Pierce throughout an epic jam.
