Video Games

dethklokDo you enjoy playing video games, but find yourself playing less because it’s taking time away from watching Adult Swim’s awesome Metalocalypse: Dethklok? You’re in luck, because this Fall, Konami will be unleashing Metalocalypse: Dethgame as a download for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.

The game, which creator Brendon Small predicts will be the “most successful downloadable cartoon death metal game in recorded history,” will have the player controlling not the band but “a band of roadies” protecting the band. The press release states that players will “fight mutants, explore the rooms and dungeons of Mordhaus, and protect the METAL faithful.” That’s their capitalization, not ours.

The game will also feature music from both of the fictional band’s albums, Dethalbum and the forthcoming Dethalbum II, out September 8. No word on the game’s release date, but it will hopefully roll out with the next season of Metalocalypse. Hell, between this and the long-in-the-works Brutal Legend, metal gamers will have their hands full this Fall. Full of joysticks, that is. And cheese doodles.
