The German symphonic project Avantasia have released a live music video for the song “Draconian Love.” The song is their second single off of their January release Ghostlights, which was the sequel to their 2013 release The Mystery of TimeThe song features guest vocalist Herbie Lanhans of Sinbreed, and has a darker tone to it than the rest of the album. It almost has an Avantasia meets Type-O Negative feel to it, which gave Langhans the perfect opportunity to show what he was capable of doing outside of the traditional power metal vocal style, and I think it worked out wonderfully. “Draconian Love” was one of the best songs off of Ghostlights, so it was no surprise that they announced it would be the next single and getting a music video when we saw them last month. You can check out the full video below.

The video is a live recording from the show they played earlier in the year during a stop in Brazil during their Ghostlights World Tour, although the audio is from that of the studio album, with some of the crowd noise added in. Ghostlights was released on January 21st via Nuclear Blast Records and was the first Avantasia album to break the Billboard Top 200 charts in the United States, peaking at #101.
