Chris Cornell’s final music video for the song “The Promise,” premiered today via RollingStone. Taken from the 2016 film The Promise, the late legend wrote the song centring around the movie’s concept. It examines a love triangle during the Armenian genocide, the days of the Ottoman Empire.

Video director Meiert Avis expressed to Rolling Stone:

“I’ve had many people break down when they watch the video. They either cry or are silent for 10 minutes.”

No one knew “The Promise” would be Cornell’s final music video, released one month following his untimely death.
