The Slipknot/ Stone Sour frontman had a lot of candid things to say during his An Evening With Corey Taylor tour last December, especially about Rick Rubin and Scott Weiland. Yet somehow we missed this interesting gem.

During his stop in Sayreville, NJ on December 9, 2011, Corey Taylor was asked whether he thought Slipknot and Mushroomhead would ever play a show together again. Before we get to his response, let’s look back at the history between the two masked bands: when both bands were first breaking big, the press made lots of comparisons. Some even went as far to claim that Mushroomhead were riding the coattails of Slipknot. Needless to say, the Ohio metal band were not happy about that, having mocked the Iowa group onstage a number of times.

In his response, though, Taylor highlighted that the so called “feud” was more of a fan made thing. And not only did Taylor say he’d be open to Slipknot playing with Mushroomhead, but would also love to play with GWAR (another shock rock band they’ve had a mini feud with before) and Mudvayne , possibly even on the same bill. You can watch Taylor’s entire response above, but here’s a piece of what he said:

“I would welcome it. I would love to do something like that, especially now. I think it would be beautiful to put something like that together and just see what fucking happens. Fucking Slipknot, Mushroomhead, GWAR, and fucking Mudvayne. That’d be awesome. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned…you don’t hold onto stupid shit. Fucking let it go.”

It’s no guarantee that such a tour or show would ever actually come to fruition. However, given the history amongst these bands (especially Slipknot, GWAR and Mushroomhead), we’d bet many people would love to see this happen. I mean, Mudvayne would have to come back from their hiatus first, but who knows, maybe this could become the Big 4 of Shock Rock/Metal.
