There’s less than one week left until Switzerland’s celtic folk metal band Eluveitie releases their newest studio effort Origins on Nuclear Blast Records on August 1st (EU), 4th (UK), 5th (US). In anticipation of its release, the band has released a full stream of the album on Nuclear Blast’s Soundcloud page for all to hear. Like many of their songs in the past, the main theme behind Origins is Celtic mythology, “or to be more precise, with aetiological tales from Gaul” says singer/songwriter Chrigel Glanzmann.

While ‘The Call of the Mountains’ is not the celtic melo-death song that their first single ‘King’ was, this track gives their vocalist Anna Murphy a chance to shine at the forefront of the folk hard rock tune, complete with a bagpipe driven melody and tin whistle solo.
