Even if you don’t think you know EDM duo The Chainsmokers, you probably have at least heard one of their forgettable songs in passing. They’ve also covered Nickelback after being unfavorably compared to them by an article. They just performed this past weekend on Saturday Night Live, and Filter frontman Richard Patrick was watching. On an Instagram post, the frontman paused the group’s performance, rewound to them singing, and pointed to singer Andrew Tagggart, stating:

“OK, I know a lot of things, and I know when things are not live. You, sir, are not fuckin’ singing live on Saturday Night Live. The Chainsmokers. Are a piece. Of Shit. That is all.”

Stereogum points out that Taggart tried to blame MTV for a flat performance at the MTV VMA’s last year, so maybe he needs all the help he can get. That being said, for a show that’s taped live, you might at least want to sing live to avoid an Ashlee Simpson malfunction.

The chainsmokers are shit. That is all. #lipsync #lipsyncing #fake #bullshit #liars #shittymusic. #fuckyou #thatisall
