Foo Fighters “rickrolled” the audience last night (20) at Tokyo’s Summer Sonic Festival. Following their David Bowie tribute, covering “Under Pressure” which had Dave Grohl on drums and Taylor Hawkins behind the mic, the group welcomed Rick Astley on stage. Grohl introduced the singer stating:

“We just learned this today. Ladies and gentlemen would you please welcome, our new best friend, Rick Astley.”

After amping the crowd, the group went into a cover of Astley’s eighties classic, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” The introduction of the tune sounded like something you would hear from Nirvana’s 1991 Nevermind but it transpired into a fun jam.
