After losing rights to the Queensryche name, but maintaining the rights to performing Operation: Mindcrime I and II in their entirety, Geoff Tate, The Voice of Queenryche, did a three-night run at Seattle’s Triple Door. Tate’s Rock and Vaudeville tour had already been teased on local TV by Tate appearing with a wig on and covering The Kinks’ “Lola.” And while it had been being promoted as “the history of rock done vaudeville style,” we had no idea that it would extend into the late ’80s, with Tate covering Faith No More’s “Epic.” Before that, he covers The Beatles, the Stones, Zeppelin, Bowie, the Bee Gees and more, with an array of wigs and costumes. It truly is epic. Tune in to 7:30 to see Tate’s cover.
