Prince released a new song, “Screw Driver” earlier today via his web site and it sure sounds like he’s been listening to a lot of AC/DC. The song, which was released today via the above lyric video, is a basic guitar-driven song, but we definitely get a “Who Made Who”/”Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n Roll)” vibe from the song. Maybe that’s because he says “we’ve got a long long way” and “rock and roll” in the song. He unveiled a new all-female band last week at Minneapolis’ Dakota Jazz Club. And if the rest of his material is anything like this, it’s going to be the most rock-oriented album he’s put out in a while. Granted, we’re still talking about Prince here, so it’s not like you’re really going to mistake this for AC/DC, but it’s worth a listen. If you’re into Prince, there’s a semi-mysterious Twitter account, 3rdeyegirl, that’s been releasing tidbits of information about the new album.
