It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Finnish goth rockers HIM, and while there’s no word on when the band’s follow-up to 2013’s Tears on Tape  will be out, but if you’re looking for a fix, UK guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, or MGT, has you covered. The guitarist has signed with SPV and enlisted frontman Ville Valo to help out on his cover of ABBA’s “Knowing Me, Knowing You.” Given that one of HIM’s earliest hits was their cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” fans will probably enjoy that he’s back in somewhat familiar territory. Here’s what Thwaite said about the cover and video for it:

The single sleeve and their video had a wintery feel to it, so when we decided to shoot a video for our version, both myself and Ville Valo agreed we should try and capture some of the feel of the ABBA version and have a winter vibe to our video as well. We shot my footage up in the snow covered mountains and Ville’s close-ups in front of a fire place that is secret place in Helsinki. We’re pleased with it and director Ville Jurrikkala did a fantastic job!”

The single will be available tomorrow, and MGT’s first solo album, Volumes, will be out in June on SPV.
