Intronaut’s brand of progressive metal has garnered them quite a few fans since their debut in 2006. Their forthcoming album, The Direction of Last Things, is poised to bring them even more. “Fast Worms,” the first song we’re hearing from it that premiered on Metal Sucks earlier today, should get them even more. Even frontman Sacha Dunable calls it a “total banger,” sounding like Tool, Gojira and Killing Joke stumbled into a jazz club. It’s a little more driving and melodic than we remember, fretless bass solo notwithstanding, and it’s the kind of song that’ll undoubtedly bring them more fans when they play it live with Between the Buried and Me and Enslaved starting in November. This is what Dunable says about the track:

“Here’s one of my favorite songs off the new record, Fast Worms. It’s a real banger and a great representation of the whole record. We can’t wait to get out and jam these new songs live!”

Here’s the track listing of The Direcction of Last Things, which will be out on Century Media on November 13.
