It’s been quite a run for Life of Agony since their last album, 2005’s Broken Valley. In between then, the band broke up, got back together, played a few one-off shows, and oh yeah, their singer came out as transsexual. With their new album, A Place Where There’s No More Pain, coming out later this month on Napalm Records, the band are in a great spot. From the sound of the interview we did with them last month, they seem closer than they’ve ever been, and the first two songs we’ve heard from the album, the title track and “World Gone Mad,” the band sound more confident and heavier than they have since perhaps their first album.

They’ve just released a video for “World Gone Mad,” and thevideo is kind of a short horror film.  It’s a meaty, hooky track with a pretty dark video to accompany it. Blood leaks into a mattress, spawning a pretty terrifying looking monster sporting a Life of Agony logo. That’s intercut with closeups of Mina Caputo singing.

A Place Where There’s No More Pain will be out on April 28th on Napalm Records, and can be pre-ordered here.
