Megadeth Crush Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon is quickly becoming the go-to guy for metal bands. Just two weeks after Shadows Fall made their national TV debut, Megadeth played their new single “Headcrusher” on the show as well. Whether Fallon is actually a metalhead, or just a smart host that’s tapping into an underserved and passionate late night audience, it doesn’t matter.

As for the mix, even though the band is firing on all cylinders, it sounds a little off. Dave’s voice sounds a little forced, and the mix sounds a little thin. Something doesn’t add up - we know what a great band Megadeth are live, Shadows Fall sounded great a few weeks ago on the show, and house band the Roots, of course, always sound phenomenal. Regardless, it’s a great song, and good to see Megadeth back in the national spotlight. Mastodon is slated to play the show next month.

it’d be cool if they had a metal band a month… fallon seemed to enjoy the peformance.. he seems like a quite open minded dude.
