On their fourth night of their week long stint on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Metallica played the song that changed everything for the band; “Enter Sandman.”

The song is from their 16x Platinum self-titled album, sometimes called “The Black Album.” Released in 1991, it was a radical departure from 1988s … and Justice for All, with shorter songs, less riffing per song, and more melody.

Metallica has been playing a song each night on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Monday was “Hit the Lights,” Tuesday it was “Fuel,” Wednesday it was “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and Thursday night we got “Enter Sandman.”
