Rob Zombie is pledging his allegiance to the United States of America with a lyric video released today for his cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s “We’re an American Band.”  The song is included on his latest album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor.

The video proudly displays the song’s lyrics sung with a forceful Zombie growl. The metal horror hero, currently on the Mayhem Festival tour circuit, has dabbled with covers in the past including a rendition of the Commodore’s “Brick House,” for Zombie’s 2003 movie House of 1000 Corpses. He has also shown his affinity for classic rock in other creative efforts with song selections for his movie remake of Halloween in 2007.
