A few years ago, someone uploaded a video featuring a beat created with Toontrack’s Drumkit From Hell EZX. Recently, Toontrack discovered that the clip has over 8 million views on YouTube. With that in mind, Toontrack wanted to see if longtime endorsee Dirk Verbeuren could play the video’s beat. What resulted was the Soilwork drummer accepting the challenge and filming the video above.

In short, Verbeuren (who ranked as Metal Sucks’ 13th best modern metal drummer) kicks the beat’s ass and proves that no drum machine can outplay him. Watch Verbeuren playing the beat above, while the original “Can You Play This” video can be seen after the jump.
