Down has been playing a handful of club gigs and festivals over in Europe in the past few weeks. And fans that caught the New Orleans band during their Download Festival appearance and show in Brussels this past week got to see them play something from frontman Philip Anselmo’s past.

During their set at the UK’s Download Festival this past Saturday, Down performed a snippet of the Pantera classic “Walk” before going into “Lifer.” Four days later, after a fan threw a Pantera t-shirt onstage, the band once again ripped into “Walk.”

Considering the history behind Pantera’s demise, it’s pretty cool to hear Anselmo singing “Walk” again (even if it’s not in its entirety). In fact, we’re not entirely sure if Anselmo has even singed a Pantera tune since Dimebag Darrell’s death. Anselmo was originally supposed to make a “surprise” appearance at the Dimebash 2010 last December, but came down with pneumonia and had to drop out.

You can watch Down performing “Walk” at the Download Festival up top, as well as in Brussels after the jump.
