Fun trivia fact: Death Angel’s 1986 demo Kill As One was produced by Kirk Hammett himself. That’s why it’s rather special to see Death Angel perform “Trapped Under Ice” with the Metallica guitarist himself 26 years later.

The Bay Area thrashers were performing at the launch party for Hammett’s Too Much Horror Business – The Kirk Hammett Collection book in San Francisco last Thursday (November 1) when the guitarist joined them for a few songs. In addition to Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice,” Death Angel and Hammett performed covers of KISS’ “She” and the Misfits’ “Horror Business.” Fan filmed footage of Hammett playing all three songs with Death Angel (who many would argue deserve to be in an expanded version of the Big Four) can be seen above, while more clips can be seen after the jump.
