The annual hippiefest known as Bonnaroo took place this past weekend, and the thing that made the destination festival of interest for metal fans was Opeth’s performance. It was a one off performance for the Swedish progressive death metallers considering that this is their only U.S. appearance until their North American tour this fall. The band performed at the Tennessee festival’s first day with a seven song set list.

The band’s Bonnaroo appearance also marked the first time they performed with new keyboardist Joakim Svalberg, confirming news that leaked earlier this month. You can check out fan filmed video of Opeth performing “Face Of Melinda” at Bonnaroo up top, while video of Artisan News Service’s interview with Mikael Åkerfeldt and Fredrik Åkesson at the festival and their set list can be seen after the jump.
