Some of Down’s last album, 2007′s excellent Over the Under, was written about the band’s anger over Hurricane Katrina and the way things were handled in the wake of it. So it makes total sense to have Philip J. Anselmo check in from New Orleans as Hurricane Isaac barreled down on the city seven years to the day after Katrina. His quick weather update shows much more normal side to Anselmo, and with the hurricane much more mild than Katrina, we’re assuming he’s fine. If you want to hear this with better audio, head over to the band’s Facebook page. He also promised updates, so check back. Also in the forecast, Down’s EP, Down IV Part I – The Purple EP, coming out on September 18.
