During the Revolver Golden Gods Award Show, the magazine played a video tribute to metal’s “Fallen Heroes.” Though the tribute can be seen during the show’s airing on May 26 on VH1 Classic, Revolver has posted the video online for people to see.

The “Fallen Heroes” tribute video honors five metal artists who’ve passed away recently, including Ronnie James Dio, Avenged Sevenfold’s Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, Slipknot’s Paul Gray, Type O Negative’s Peter Steele, and Alice In Chains’ Mike Starr. Though there are certainly a few names that are missing from the montage, the video is still a sad reminder of how many talented individuals the metal world has lost in the past year and a half alone. The video also reminds us that this Monday (May 16) will mark the one year anniversary of Dio’s passing. Certainly a sad way to start the weekend… sorry about that.
