Web 2.Oooh Yeah!

Twitter is such a magical thing. First the social network brought Devin Townsend and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato together, and now it looks like it’s the cause of another awesome collaboration.

Thanks to a series of tweets, Devildriver frontman Dez Fafara will record a guest spot on Austrian Death Machine’s (As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis’ Arnold Schwarzenegger metal tribute band) third album. It started with a series of tweets between Fafara and “sablespecter,” which included the following post:

@evilriver @timlambesis Much respect and thanks for great work to both of you! \m/ Dez would be a great brootal guest on the next ADM, Tim!”

Lambesis seemed to agree, as he chimed in with the following:

@evilriver @sablespecter that’s a great idea. Dez, you wanna do a track with me?!”

Fafara (who admittedly said he never heard ADM’s previous albums but loved the concept) replied saying “Be an honor. Let me know when and where.” Even Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel gave his blessing to the collaboration via Twitter. And so this is how Twitter has become the booking agents of all social networks.
