Lamb Of God singer Randy Blythe has been one of the most vocal metal musicians on Twitter, having shared his opinions on the industry as well as his bid for the presidency. Well, our Twitter feed has just gotten more quiet, as Blythe has deactivated his account.

Prior to deactivating his Twitter account, the Lamb Of God singer posted his final tweet saying:

“Looking at twitter lately makes me realize that bothering to read some of this pure SHITE is, in fact, making me less intelligent. Therefore I shall be forced to remove it from my phone for a bit, thereby eliminating the temptation to glance at it on the shitter or in line at the Kroger in between cursing & putting away grocery carts.

I have too much shit to read & do to peruse even one more inane comment. I feel my cerebrum actually shrinking even as I type this, so I leave y’all to it for a bit with this piece of advice- go outside, read a book, help yer neighbor out (or even a stranger), write some music, poetry, lyrics whatever, call yer Mom or Grandma or whoever, go skateboarding, take a walk in the woods, stare at yet belly button & contemplate the meaning of the universe- WHATEVER. Just go enjoy LIFE for a bit. I will be.”

Earlier this year, Blythe talked to us at great length about Twitter being a good communication tool for discussing topics besides Lamb Of God and engaging with fans. Though his account is no longer online, Blythe’s Tumblr account is still active. Plus, the singer’s Lamb Of God bandmates Chris Adler, Mark Morton, and John Campbell are still on Twitter.
