Static-X Returns! Well… Sort Of

We're Getting The Band Back Together...Sort Of

It’s been about two years since Static-X became inactive, leaving frontman Wayne Static to pursue a solo career. Well, now it appears that Static-X is indeed back…sort of. This time around, Wayne is the only constant amidst X variables. Or in less mathematical terms: while it is true that Static-X will be touring again, frontman Wayne Static will be the only familiar face within an otherwise completely new lineup. All other original band members seem to have moved on, such as bassist Tony Campos, who is now part of Soulfly and Prong’s lineup. However, Campos himself has made it clear that he’s ok with Static-X moving on without him, saying:

“I’m proud of my years with STATIC-X, and want to see the name of the band stay alive and well. I hope that all of our fans will continue to support both Wayne and I in our individual endeavors.”

The name seems alive alright, but it is yet to be seen just how much things will change with the new members around. So far, no information seems to be availableregarding who the new members actually are.  Nevertheless, Static seems quite ecstatic about it all, saying:

“I had a great time over the past few years doing my ‘Pighammer’ album and solo tours, but it’s time to get Static-X back on the road. I can’t wait to tear it up with some old-school Evil Disco!”

The tour will start on July 15th when they play at the Ink Life Tattoo Convention in El Paso, Texas. So in less than two weeks we will know for sure who the X in the new Static-X really are (if not sooner). A complete rundown of dates confirmed so far for Static-X’s reunion(?) tour can be seen after the jump.
