Mudvayne Officially On Hiatus (In Case You Couldn’t Tell)

We're NOT Getting The Band Back Together

It’s been two years since Mudvayne released their self-titled fifth album. And since then, not much has been heard from the band, as singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett have been keeping busy with Hellyeah. Well now it looks like fans will have to wait at least another two years to hear anything from Mudvayne.

Tribbett confirmed that Mudvayne were continuing their “hiatus” with the following tweet via Hellyeah’s account:

“Just to set the Record straight. Mudvayne is on Hiatus! Chad and I are concentrating on HY and will be touring HY the next 2 years! Cheers !”

While this might be disappointing to some fans, it can’t be said that the writing wasn’t on the wall. Mudvayne didn’t tour in support of the 2009 self-titled album, and the only real promotion done for the album was three videos filmed back to back. Plus, you can’t necessarily blame Hellyeah for wanting to keep the momentum going following the release of 2010’s Stampede, which debuted in the top 10 despite selling considerably less than their self-titled debut in 2007. So hope you like Hellyeah, because that’s all you’ll be getting from Chad and Greg for at least the next two years. Happy?
