I got my start in the world of metal as a DJ on 89.5 WSOU-FM, the radio station of Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. I was known on the air as Chris the Mad Scientist during my time there. During and after college, I did internships and volunteer work with Roadrunner Records, The Syndicate, Century Media Records, and numerous other music industry companies. In early 2010, I started writing reviews and news articles on the world of heavy music for PopMatters, and later that year, was added to the roster for Metal Insider.
