Betting expert predicts Metallica, Mastodon will pick up Grammys

Posted by on January 9, 2018

While the Super Bowl isn’t until February 4th, if you’re really into betting, you’ve got the 60th annual Grammy Awards coming up a week before, on January 28th. And while Vegas oddsmakers will make a lot more profit on the big game, sports better Jim Murphy has handicapped the odds of who will take home the awards in all the major categories. A press release we got stated that the Grammys, despite being much less-watched than the glory days of the ’70s, are still the second most-popular of the awards shows.

Murphy believes that Metallica will take home the two awards they’re nominated for, Best Rock Song for “Atlas, Rise” and Best Rock Album for Hardwired… To Self Destruct. As far as Best Metal Performance, he thinks that Mastodon will pick up their first Grammy for “Sultan’s Curse.” Those choices seem like the safest ones, and if the awards do pan out that way, it wouldn’t be very surprising. You can read the whole report here, but here’s the odds according to the bettor.
