King Diamond cancels Houston show

Posted by on December 3, 2015

King diamond has been killing it since coming back from triple-bypass heart surgery in 2010. A successful handful of dates last year turned into a triumphant performance on the ill-fated Myahem Fest and a tour that’s currently selling out around the country. In fact, just last week, his shows in Philadelphia and Detroit were filmed for a concert tour. However, if you were planning on seeing him tomorrow (4) in Houston, get ready to be disappointed, as he’s cancelled his second show in a week. From his Facebook page:

Houston, we are very sorry to inform you that there is unfortunately no chance for King Diamond to perform at the House of Blues this Friday the 4th of December, due to the acute laryngitis, which caused the cancellation in Oklahoma this Tuesday.
An unforeseen effect of the anesthetic used in the examination this past Monday has delayed the healing process.
King has for once been silent, trying his damnedest to bring enough vocal chords back to complete the rest of the tour.
There is still hope for Dallas on Saturday, but do keep an eye on our Facebook just in case.
Again, Houston, we are very very sorry. You know how much we love playing for you.

Stay Heavy

King’s voice is the most signature part of the band, so seeing King Diamond without it wouldn’t be the same. Having seen him twice in the past year, he’s absolutely slaying it, so here’s hoping he gets better. There’s no word on whether the two cancelled shows will be made up.
