For those unfamiliar with the Broadway hit Rock Of Ages, it’s a jukebox musical that uses 80’s glam rock stapls from bands like Styx, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, Journey, Poison and more. Recently, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider became a part of the cast, and you may have seen this glorious moment at the 2009 Tonys thanks to the show. Now, a Hollywood film adaptation is in the works and it appears that they’ve just bagged themselves a big name: Tom Cruise.

That’s right, we will get to see Tom Cruise belt out “Wanted Dead Or Alive” on the big screen in the screen adaptation of the play! Cruise’s involvement has been rumored for months, but FirstShowing.net confirms that a deal is almost finalized. However, what role he’ll be playing still seems a bit hazy. It is currently being reported that Cruise will be playing Stacee Jaxx, an arrogant yet charming rock star at the top of his career, but back when the rumors were just starting to swirl the internet, it was reported that he’ll be playing the bartender. Personally, I’d prefer to see him revise his Cocktail skills and be the bartender. We’ll keep you updated when more is revealed (and if we find out whether Cruise can actually sing or not).
