Is This What Metallica And Lou Reed’s Collaboration Will Sound Like?

Posted by on June 17, 2011

Late Wednesday night, Metallica revealed that they’ve wrapped up recording for their new collaboration with Lou Reed. Since then, the metal community has been thinking out loud “Metallica and Lou Reed? What the hell will that sound like?”

Well we can assure you that it won’t sound like the the 37 second snippet of Metallica covering “Take A Walk On A Wild Side” that’s been making its way around the web. Reed and Metallica themselves confirmed to RollingStone.com that though they were originally planning to cover a “fallen jewels that no one remembered,” the two decided to record songs Reed wrote for Lulu (a theatrical production of stories by the German author Frank Wedekind currently running in Berlin).

You can check out the clip for yourself over at Guitar World to hear what the project could sound like…but most likely won’t.
