Melodic death metal doesn’t just have to come from Gothenburg or New England. Take, for example, Holland’s Soulnerve. The project just released their debut album, The Dying Light at the end of July, and their catchy melodic thrash makes them a perfect fit for Amplified. Soulnerve formed in 2004, but after building up steam in the local Dutch metal community, disbanded in 2008. Following that, guitarist Steph Brus worked intensely on what would become the band’s debut album, playing guitar, bass and drums on the album. Fans of Killswitch Engage and Darkest Hour will definitely be interested in hearing the trio, rounded out by vocalists Kevin Klaassen and Koen Vroom . Check out the title track below. The band’s debut album can be picked up here, and you can find out more about the band here.
