Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
So Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) is a criminal now I guess. You’d think that, being a fan of Iced Earth, I would be devastated by this turn of events while trying to come to grips with whether I should keep listening to his music or not. Luckily the band’s last two albums kinda sucked and Schaffer thinks COVID is a hoax, so I don’t really care. He can write a shitty concept album about being an American patriot on the walls of his prison cell for all I care. I know you guys don’t come here for politics but give me a break here: it’s January, nothing is out, and the Capitol was stormed only a week ago. It’s a big deal.
Also, there’s no debuts this week, so I decided to go with this cover from an album called evermore. It’s the number 1 album on the charts and I just assumed it was by some folk metal artist like Myrkur judging by the name and cover. Oh. Wait. Oh, you guys are gonna be mad at me…
