Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
Of the 13 new debuts listed below, five of them come from bands that haven’t released a new album for at least five years. Lamb Of God is at the top, and while many will point out the band released the 2018 album Legion: XX, it was a covers album under the moniker Burn The Priest, so this is the first new studio album in five years. For other bands, however, its been more than 4 times as long, like Hum and their surprise-release of its first new album in 22 years. I guess this is the part where I make a Tool joke, but I’ve got nothing.
