Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
Trent Reznor has returned, and with that return he has unsurprisingly brought a lot of hype. And that hype translates into a lot album sales. We know that there are some people who will likely look at their computer screens and cry “But Nine Inch Nails aren’t metal!”. Regardless of what your opinion is and regardless of how many hairs you split, we consider Trent Reznor to be relevant to metal in the same sense that Dave Grohl is relevant to metal. Sure, most people wouldn’t label Foo Fighters as a metal band but to deny Grohl’s influence in the metal community is a disservice. The same goes for Reznor in our eyes. So, without further ado, enjoy the list we have this week.
