Metal By Numbers 9/9: Motörhead work their bad magic

Posted by on September 9, 2015

Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

The subject of Lemmy’s health has been a hot topic in metal for a while now. It doesn’t feel it started that long ago, but the saga has been going on over two years now. It may be hard to believe at first, but the fact that we’re again seeing a crop of Motörhead show cancellations again shows history repeating itself. Still, the debut of a new studio album should keep morale high, showing that time may take its toll on touring, but not in writing music that is everything louder than everyone else. In addition to Bad Magic, eight other albums have made their debut. Not nearly as big of a debut list as last week, but a worthy followup nonetheless. And of course, the list of notable sales is longer than ever.
