Slipknot hit number one. Again. After months of hype and intrigue, the band’s latest album, .5: The Gray Chapter, topped the Billboard charts this past week, selling around 132,000 copies in its first week of release.

This comes after a long promotional campaign which started back on August 1st, with the release of ‘The Negative One,‘ a video for ‘Devil In I’ which pretty much revealed the identity of their new bass player, their masks revealed on BuzzFeed, and finally a daily release of new tracks from the album leading up to the release.

In the end the band scored its second #1 album, their second since 2008s s ‘All Hope Is Gone.’ A full recap of this week’s charts will be coming later today or tomorrow.
