Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Badguyswin frontman/guitarist Shane Sherman as he’s been spending this time working on their next album.

What have you been doing to pass the time during Quarantine?

We live in a small town that hasn’t been affected by COVID as hard as other places. We are all still grateful to be working and since our band primarily works at the same location, we have been lucky enough to be able to continue to jam. Other than that, we have been working on the new album and perfecting our debut album so we are ready to perform once it’s safe to perform.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

We are all big fans of The Invasives. They’re a band from Vancouver that are definitely worth checking out.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I love cooking so I’ve been perfecting my wife’s favourite meals. Pastas, stir fry’s and new recipes that I’ve found online have been predominant in my recent cooking.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’ve been reading some James Patterson recently. It hasn’t been my favourite, but it’s been an author I hadn’t been familiar with previously. I’ve also been spending time listening to WWE podcasts and watching old reruns of Survivor.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Keep absorbing as much music as you can while you wait for the live scene to come back. It’s a good time to discover new artists if you have the time. There is going to be a lot of new material coming out from artists who have been isolated, and it will be an exciting time to see the influx of new material that will soon be coming out.
