Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine: Duskwalker’s Cale Costello – “Try not to go crazy”

Posted by on January 7, 2021

Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Duskwalker drummer Cale Costello as he’s been spending this time working.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We held off rehearsing or hanging together for a good 3 months during the beginning of quarantine. Once things lightened up we got right back to work. We started rehearsing a set of covers to play at a Halloween party but then that was cancelled. So we decided to take some of those covers and record them with some new gear. It’s most likely we’ll release these in the future. We also managed to squeeze some time in to shoot our video for “The Crawling Tongue” with The Growl (Death Metal Documentary) Director Cannibal Cam Schwarz

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Spirit Adrift, Wilderun, Nofx, Bolt Thrower, Watain, The Crown, obviously there were a lot of Van Halen being played for a while.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Rapini, Lasagna, various meats and cheese

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Endless YouTube. The Mandalorian was pretty great. Trailer Park Boys, Wrestling. A few of us are gamers,  Assassins Creed Valhala and Spider-Man Miles Morales help keep us busy.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Try not to go crazy. There’s enough of that already.
