Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Grey Daze drummer Sean Dowdell as he’s been busy with writing a book, baking, and losing some of his IQ after watching Netflix’s Tiger King.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We have several businesses that we have been remodeling, and I have been writing a book that will hopefully be published by the end of the year. I’ve also read three more books this month about Napoleon and the Byzantine Empire. Nerd stuff.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I have been diving back into some of my roots lately especially when I run every morning. Rediscovering bands like Mother Love Bone and Live. I also like Twenty One Pilots, Keane.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Been making brownies and baking a little.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I just watched the Tiger King on Netflix, and feel like my IQ suffered a bit afterwards, lol.

I also love documentaries and history so I watch a lot of historical docs.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Find something positive to keep your focus on. Don’t watch the news all the time, it is depressing and very misleading as to what is really going on. I don’t feel like the media is being helpful at the moment so I try to avoid it.

Grey Daze has postponed the release of their upcoming album Amends from April 10th to June 26th due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pre-order here.
