Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Illuminated Minerva guitarist Nathan Bourgeault as he’s been spending this time working on artwork.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Well, I guess I’ve been doin quite a bit during quarantine… Been working on a lot of artwork, spending time with my wonderful lady and our whisker sisters, also drilling riffs on my dope home rig.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Definitely loving the new INTRONAUT album ‘FLUID EXISTENTIAL INVERSIONS’, but always the classics, SikTh, Kaki King, Tool…

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

The Boo and I already made our own meals mostly, prior to the lockdown, we keep our meat intake to a minimum so we are usually making veggie tacos or rice and vegetable dishes, but yo, sometimes you gotta have that Korean fried chicken! (I still cry inside)

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’m a pretty broad spectrum ‘art’ guy, especially since I love illustrating, a few great movies out there, THE LIGHTHOUSE, MOTHER!, PARASITE… I really enjoy sequential art, so I’m deep into BLACKSAD, BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL… things like this, I’ll also crush any vid you put in front of me… BRING IT!!!

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

I’d tell anyone going a little STIR CRAZY in these times to keep your chin up! Make sure you get some sort of exercise, I’d go throw some discs or something, get some vitamin D up in ya, also make sure you address THE MIND, if ya stressing, talk to somebody, take this time to reflect, make good choices and be a good person.
