Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Lucifer’s Johanna Sadonis as she’s been spending this time working on material for the next album.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We are always working on music and have just started working on material for the next album. Luckily, we have a studio at home. We also still have plenty to do for our new album Lucifer III. There are a lot of interviews etc and also planning the next year and rescheduling the shows we were supposed to play this year. I have also been enjoying tending to our huge garden as I do love to work with my hands and make things. There is always plenty to do out here where we live. We don’t get bored.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

We are constantly listening to music. We just started re-organizing our record collection and are rediscovering a lot of albums. Generally old stuff from the 60s and 70s.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Honestly, we are not big preppers. At home I try to stick to a vegan and gluten free diet as much as possible. So for me that just means a lot of salad, avocados, hummus and nuts.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I always start my day reading the news, mostly from German news pages. We never watch regular TV but we do stream quite a bit. We recently enjoyed Ozark and just started to watch The Plot Against America and Mrs. America, both are pretty good so far. I do love watching old classic movies and reading rock and roll but also historic biographies, which in a way all tell a similar story. I do love the occasional chess game and my guilty pleasure is some Sudoku on the side while sipping on a strong cup of coffee. Another source of entertainment for me are pages like www.oldhousedreams.com and the world interior design.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

A routine is important I suppose. Giving one’s day a frame. Eat healthy, exercise, feed your brain and talk to friends or family. But most importantly; don’t neglect your rock and roll!
