Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with We Too, Will Fade as they’ve been spending this time being productive and motivated.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Since the start of Quarantine back in March 2020, we have been surprisingly productive and motivated to be as artistically productive as the circumstances allowed. Just shortly before the lockdown would be introduced, we found our current drummer and having a new line-up complete, we started working and even managed to release the new EP under the name of “Everything Falls Apart as It Should.” So in our case, while we are one of the few lucky ones to be professionally occupied from home during the quarantine, artistically we try to keep at the top of our game and not let the existential crisis settle in.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I think we have not listened to more music in our lives as we listened to during the quarantine. Even more, the entire past year has been devoted to expanding the musical horizons and to some point trying ourselves out in different genres. Besides discovering some of the best contemporary indie artists (Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker to say the least), we have re-discovered music from our local and German scene which we gathered in our Spotify playlist “Our Dying Friends”. It is a collection of bands and friends that influenced us on both, artistic and personal level and we could only recommend giving them a piece of your heart.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Interestingly enough, some of us started discovering vegan/vegetarian substitutes and getting more into that direction of cooking. While we have successfully failed at making a sourdough several times, I do have to say we managed to significantly decrease our meat consumption which, just like our playlist above, we would only recommend to everyone.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Having bought a PS4 just a day before the lockdown would be imposed, I (Shmagi) have re-discovered console gaming and finally caught up on legendary titles such as God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and many more. And while Ludwig has been very keen on the latest Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Vlad and Oli have been bringing shows such as Brooklyn 99, BoJack Horseman and other similar titles.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Understanding that quarantine affects everyone individually and many of our friends’ mental health has spiraled down, we’d want to inspire anyone reading this that there is more to this life than survival, even when trapped within the four walls. Do more of what makes you feel alive, discover new passions to burn for and please, oh please, do not fear the lows because that state won’t last forever, it will get better, you will get better.
