dokken-dream-warriors-singleIt’s Halloween, and while we could post a Helloween album on here and call it day, we’d rather do something different. With that in mind, here’s our top five list of heavy songs in horror movies. We’re sure you’ve got a few of your own, so chime in in the comments section. In the meantime, if you’re up for more Halloween horror movie fun, check out Richard Christy’s (Charred Walls of the Damned) list of cheesy but awesome horror movies and his ranking of the Friday the 13th films.

5) Godflesh, “Nihil” from Hideaway (1995)

Hideaway is a 1995 movie in which Jeff Goldblum becomes psychically connected to a serial killer, with each being able to see through each other’s eyes. In a nightclub scene during the movie in which Goldblum’s character watches helplessly as the killer interacts with his unwitting daughter, we’re treated to Godflesh’s “Nihil,” performed by the band themselves in the club. Desperation is the name of the game for this movie, and Godflesh knows no other emotion.
